We love sacred geometry, spirituality
and magic symbols from all over the world!
Carola, the founder of wandalas has been dealing with spirituality, the law of attraction and personality development for a long time and draws inspiration from this for the motifs. With her curiosity, openness and high sensitivity, she absorbs new knowledge like a sponge and uses it in her designs. Carola is a Reiki master, has been initiated into angelic healing energy, has been practicing yoga for a long time, loves to be in nature, reads many books and used to practice kung fu. Through various seminars, lectures, meditation courses, naturopaths and coaches, she has expanded her knowledge enormously and has been able to heal herself from diseases (doctors called them incurable).
All over the world she is looking for symbols in old buildings, temples, monasteries and churches. Every culture and every living being has knowledge from which we can learn! She can't walk past a beautifully designed postcard without buying it, and she can't miss a film or series that even remotely has anything to do with magic and superpowers. She now eats vegan and gluten-free and deals a lot with the topics of spirituality, health, self-healing, nutrition, trauma, sustainability and environmental protection. A down-to-earth spirituality is very important to her. Therefore, she also deals with areas of quantum physics, neuroscience, epigenetics and psychosomatics, which scientifically prove spiritual teachings.
The team of wandalas
Carola Stober
Founder, CEO, artist and designer
Carola studied media art with a minor in communication design (diploma media artist HfG / ZKM Karlsruhe) and is a specialist in web design (IHK). She has been self-employed since 2005 with web and graphic design and was also Djane for a while. During her studies at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, she focused on photography, communication design and digital media. She created the name wandalas, as well as the entire wandalas design and concept. All motifs in the shop are designed by her or carefully selected. Many photos that can be found in the shop, e.g. flatlays, were taken by her.
Jens Stober
CEO, shop administration
Jens is Carola's business partner and spouse. He actively supports Carola in choosing the different designs. Jens manages the administrative and technical area behind the shop and leads the development of our Magento 2 system.
The story of wandalas
Through school and university, Carola got to know the golden ratio, Le Corbusier and the Pythagorean theorem. She learned that Leonardo da Vinci already knew about the laws of the universe and used them for his works of art, machines and buildings. She was fascinated by this and since then she has been interested in sacred geometry.
After going through some rough times, Carola got to a point where she stopped asking "why does this always happen to me" and asked herself "what is it trying to tell me?" And as it is, if you ask a question, the universe will answer. Carola came across a book about the "Law of Attraction" and was totally captivated. She tested playfully whether and how it works. The craziest and greatest things happened to her that happened to her
Proof enough that this law always works. Finally she no longer felt like a victim of her circumstances and experiences, but began to live her life completely differently. Suddenly self-reflection, mindfulness, finding and dissolving negative beliefs and positive thinking were firmly part of her life! But since the teachings of this book also have gaps, Carola went in search of further answers and, over time, delved deeper and deeper into the matter and spirituality. Through her studies and her ex-boyfriend, who made lettering, she finally came up with the idea of making the "flower of life" as a wall tattoo and invested in her own cutting plotter.
The goal by wandalas
Once Carola decided to build her own shop and brand, she didn't let anything get her down. It doesn't matter whether it was no help with the delivery of the plotter in the pouring rain, learning the plotter technology and software on your own, family and friends who did not support you, or technology that didn't work. Because she wanted to spread the "Law of Attraction" and "Sacred Geometry" in a modern way and also to clear up many false myths about old symbols that have crept into people's heads. This vision gave her the strength she needed to achieve her goals and get through challenging times. That's why the first shop motif was a quote from Buddha: "What you think today, you will be tomorrow".
Every day when she saw the spell on her wall, she reminded herself of the law of attraction, of her own creativity and of the magic around her.
Our motifs should also support you, motivate you, give you courage, strength and hope and help you to achieve your goals! On the way to self-realization, external obstacles will sometimes stand in your way. The motives can give you courage, self-confidence, confidence and strength not to let your goals get in your way, no matter what others do or say. Our spiritual and mystical motifs from different corners of the world will not only beautify your rooms, but also exude harmony, inspiration, joy and positive energy. They remind you of the magic in you and around you, of your creativity and of practicing mindfulness and dreaming big.
We are so much more than our body, our feelings and our thoughts! We are all pure energy, we are all one! :-)
2019
Our shop relaunch is online! After the previous developers hadn't programmed everything so properly and our shop software brought newer versions onto the market in the meantime, we decided to set everything up from scratch ourselves! So we worked our way deeper and deeper into the shop software and spent many hours tinkering with the new shop in winter! Appropriate for spring, when nature awakens to new things, our "newly renovated" wandalas shop also went online! In the meantime, we also include the motif meanings with our deliveries and ship CO2-neutral with DHL GOGREEN.
2018
With our shop, I switched to another hosting provider that worked much better with our shop software. The work with the developers also turned out to be increasingly unreliable and worse, so I was on my own again. I wasn't so alone anymore, because my husband and meanwhile also the owner of the shop took more and more care of the shop development. He, too, has gained a lot of experience in the field in the past.
Not only did we change our shop, but after years of searching we finally found suitable rooms for our workplace!
The Dawanda platform will be closed and we will move our Dawanda shop to Etsy.
2017
In the meantime, I also devoted myself to photography and other projects, but then plucked up the courage to look for the right developers. After extensive searching, I found developers who could help me. I worked a lot on the shop the whole time and in 2017 my own independent online shop finally went online! Shortly thereafter, the first wall tattoo was sold through the shop, a Buddha quote: "Learn to let go, that's the key to happiness." What do you think the universe was trying to tell me? ;-) I can still remember it clearly because I had just redesigned the wall tattoo. What a great feeling! :-) In the meantime, my husband and I also founded Cloudwalker GmbH, under which we put all our creative companies together.
In January 2017 I created an Instagram wandalas account, where we have been busy posting pictures and insta stories ever since. Click here for the wandalas Instagram account.
2015
First attempt to start your own online shop far away from the well-known platforms. Unfortunately, he repeatedly failed to find the right developer. The prices for creating an online shop have also been and still are completely overpriced. I continued to study spirituality, work on my beliefs (especially in achieving my own goals) and completed the first Reiki degree.
2014
After gaining some experience on Ebay, I opened another Dawanda shop. In the meantime I had read more knowledge about marketing and put some new motifs online. I also created more and more labels for companies or the self-employed and had gained more and more experience with the different types of adhesive film.
2012
In February 2012 I started my first Ebay shop to gain some experience with shops. Before that, I created a concept, came up with the name wandalas and designed the corporate design for wandalas, including the logo, flyer, business cards, assembly instructions, etc.
The first wall decal I posted was the Flower of Life. The flower of life was bought the very next evening and I can still remember the great feeling of having made my very first sale.
Meanwhile, I studied media art with a minor in communication design at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design. Right from the start I worked as a freelancer during my studies, or was self-employed with web design and graphic design. Among other things, I was able to gain a lot of experience with a well-known online shopping community, because I was there shortly after it went online and designed graphics, animated Flash films, banners, flyers and posters for many different brands.
