A symbol with history: Found on ancient rocks
The Valknut symbol (also known as Wotan's knot or Odin's knot) is deeply rooted in Scandinavian history. Archaeologists discovered these intertwined triangles on thousand-year-old, monumental picture stones and rocks on the Swedish island of Gotland. There, it was historically carved into hard stone mostly in the context of the Allfather Odin, his ravens, and the fate of warriors.
Our model features the fascinating unicursal Valknut: While the more common version consists of three separate, interlocking triangles, the unicursal form is drawn from one single, unbroken line. This flowing variation was discovered on the famous Tängelgårda stone on Gotland (c. 700 CE), carved right next to a rider figure that scholars attribute to the Allfather Odin. Due to this continuous line work, the design is also closely related to the classic Triskele (Triskelion) – the ancient triple spiral symbol representing the eternal flow of life.
Why is it called Odin's knot? The magic of mental binding
The connection to the Allfather Odin has a deeply mystical background. In the old sagas, Odin was considered not just a ruler, but above all a master of magic and runes. According to the myths, he possessed the mysterious power to directly "hack" into the minds of warriors on the battlefield. The intertwined endless knot is considered the visual sign for this invisible, mental magic:

Binding the enemies: Odin could block the thoughts of opponents, strike them with sudden fear or a kind of mental paralysis, and literally "knot" their minds in battle.
